Exciting news: it looks like there may be two big gatherings for the Microsolidarity network this July.
The first one is July 15-21 in the USA, on a farm 90 minutes outside Portland OR. The gathering is hosted by Ioan Mitrea, Abby Oulton & Sara Bajor, three new friends who met at the most recent Microsolidarity gathering in Denver last year. Register here!
The second gathering is in Europe July 17-23. Hosted by Jocelyn Ames, Jonas Gröner, and Rich Bartlett. We have not confirmed a venue yet, so we’re open to suggestions! We’re currently looking around the Black Forest region in Germany but we’re open to your recommendations anywhere in Europe.
For both these events, the intention is to create a lofi summer camp experience, i.e. campfires, camping in tents, campervans, camp outfits, etc. Both events will run for a week, but you can choose to join for half that time if you prefer. We’re doing what we can to keep the costs low to make it accessible to everyone, so we’ll have an open agenda and share the duties of preparing and cleaning up meals. We especially welcome families to come with kids.
The hosting team will look after the logistics and the minimum viable agenda, but most of the schedule will be co-created by whoever shows up to participate in our temporary community.
For now this message is just a notice to save the date. You can register your interest and we’ll let you know when registrations open.
May 6 UPDATE: registrations for the USA camp and the Euro camp are now open!
love from Rich, on behalf of the two (2!) hosting teams
this might be a good venue too, a big house with a yurt and space for camping. I have stayed there twice and it was great https://decentrale.ch/
