Microsolidarity Update: Crewing and Co-living 🫖🧣
Join the Crewing practice programme on December 3rd!
Hello from Berlin!
We have news on the crewing programme coming up soon, as well as a crop of reflections on the practices of crewing and co-living. Feeling out of loop? Join the network call on December 5, details below.
And a very current reminder - Jocelyn Ames is running a free intro session to her Mediation Skills course tonight at 1800 CET (in 30 mins!) More details on the session and the course here. 🔥
✨ CREWING PRACTICE PROGRAM ✨
Crewing is the core practice of Microsolidarity. In this 2-week programme we’ll dive deeper in to the why, what and how around crewing. We'll provide you with the basic principles and tools you need to get out there and start your own crews!
4 lives calls over 2 weeks, starting on December 3rd 2024
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 18:00 - 19:30 CET // 9:00 - 10:30 PST
And… if you’re a returning student, you’re invited to join again for free!
I also want to flag up some nice recent reflections on crewing practices:
👉 This rich conversation with participants of an earlier run of the Intermediate Practice Program which also had a focus on crewing. The talk about what it takes to create crews “in the wild”, as well as questions of intentionality and developing self/group awareness.
👉 Johnson’s blog sharing experiences from being involved at ~25 crews. “I have experience with crews forming around an interest, around a vibe, around existing groups of friends (from weeks old to decades old), around a person. I have experience with crews lasting, ending, failing to launch, sputtering.”
👉 My reflections on crewing as “an incredible conflict-resolution technology” in a greater whole “that helps to keep groups on a generative, cooperative level, despite tensions that continuously arise”.
👉 On the subject of conflicts, there is a chat between Alex Popiak and Rich on helping a group to see the conflicts under the surface. Youtube & Podcast.
The course will be hosted by Johnson, Jonas, Jocelyn and Sara.
✨ Conversations on Co-Living ✨
Tune in as Jocelyn and Abi talk about their experiences with co-living! YouTube / Podcast
What makes for good co-living experiences? What have been some of the gifts and challenges?
What structures help everyone get along in a shared space, particularly in tending to shared spares and resources?
There will be a Part 2 coming soon, and Part 3 is in the works as this is such a juicy topic. Subscribe to Microsolidarity YouTube channel to get the next episodes.

We’ll be using the Relationship Anarchy Smorgasbord as a conversation starter, and see where it goes from there! (It was rescheduled from November).
👉 To join, become a member via our Microsolidarity Open Collective. And if you’d like to (co-)host an upcoming call and practice the art of facilitation, get in touch with Jocelyn at microsolidarity@gmail.com

Futurecraft at Feÿtopia 🌳
Check out this is a network-adjacent event run by Stephen Reid, Anna Ling, Laura Gottlieb and jae spencer keyese, this time taking place during Feÿtopia at the inspiring Château du Feÿ near Paris, France from 17th - 23rd February 2025.
Futurecraft is a playground for a new culture of wholeness, where we reimagine the meaning of self, community and world; reintegrate body, mind and soul; and rethink the relationship between technology, humanity and nature.
All the details are here!
Until next time,
