Welcome to the August update. A lot of soulful stuff has happened already, like the USA Summer Camp at Elkenmist and the Borderland festival - and this newsletter is bringing you the reflections. And the good news is that there is still more to come with the EU Microsolidarity camp in three weeks and more opportunities later in the autumn. Read on and sign up!
It’s three weeks until the EU Microsolidarity Summer Camp!
We will come together for a week of community-building geekery, relaxation, peer learning, meeting old and new friends, and other kinds of meaningful fun between August 29th and September 4th.
If you’re curious to hear more about the vibe and what to expect, check out this interview with the hosting crew.
Buy your ticket by 15th August!
💭 Reflections 💭
🏕️ The curiosity, sincerity and collective growth building within this Network is so tangible right now!
In this month's Network Call we had a stimulating and enriching time reflecting on the latest USA Summer Camp at Elkenmist, and the Borderland festival "Microsolidarity-ish" camp experience in Sweden.
What did we learn about hosting, leadership and belonging? How have those experiences helped us to grow?
Warm your heart and listen in to the conversation here!
💭 Sara, lead event organiser for USA Summer Camp, shares about designing the event arc and how it connected to the camps's theme of exploring belonging with more-than-human beings in a blog (it looks wild)
💭 Julia (me!) shares her insights into Microsolidarity, the concept of crews, the mechanics of collaboration and how this relates to the idea of... a restaurant spindle in her blog.
💭 Johnson spent the last few months in San Francisco introducing crewing to a community/place called the Commons, and wrote several essays worth of documentation about it, and wanted to share with all of you here!
🗓️ Coming up 🗓️
☎️ The next Network Call is on 5th September (after the EU Summer Camp!). To join, become a member via our Microsolidarity Open Collective. And if you’d like to (co-)host an upcoming call and practice the art of facilitation, get in touch with Jocelyn at microsolidarity@gmail.com
This October we're bringing together a carefully curated group of travellers, hosts of co-living spaces and network weavers to create a non-fiction illustrated book about semi-nomadic lifestyle ready for world wide publishing.
The mastermind uses a unique playful facilitation methodology based on cards prototyped while writing "How to Build A Regenerative Village".
You'll find more info on the website, and this twitter thread, and feel free to reach out to Michał for more information 🤍
That’s it for now! Don’t miss the chance to connect in person at the EU Microsolidarity Camp in Austria if you can and until September.
